Hi, beautiful people!
Since I was young, I have been fascinated by colorful things and paper. I would save up my allowance to buy fancy pens and stationeries. Mobile phones were not yet “invented”, and writing letters is one of the major forms of communication! That fascination, I still have upto today. I still buy colorful pens – so hard to resist. The stationeries I’ve collected from high school are still with me. It’s more like a souvenir now because I don’t really want to use them.
Anyway, I’d like to share with you my pen and marker collection. I bought some of these when I was still in college (over 10 years ago), and others are more recent. And yes, they still work just fine. 🙂
I bought these as a set some years ago, except for the bronze one, which I bought for a DIY project last year. The black one I have replaced a few times since the initial purchase. There are so much color additions now, I cannot keep up! These are my go-to markers.
BIC MARKING PERMANENT MARKERS
I bought this last year before I got married. An impulse buy to be honest. These came in 2 sets, and weirdly, both sets didn’t provide a black one. I have duplicates of the blue-gray and gray though. LOL
These provide vivid colors, I think even darker than the Sharpies. They also bleed through regular paper more compared to Sharpie.
TOKYO FINDS CALLIGRAPHY PENS (CARNIVAL)
I got these through Don’s office incentive website. I wanted these thinking I could practice my calligraphy. But the brush tips are soooo soft and flimsy that I’m having a hard time controlling the pen… or maybe I just don’t know how to use them?!
TOKYO FINDS PRO BLEND WATERCOLOR BRUSH SET (WINTER, SPRING, SUMMER, FALL)
These came is 4 different sets, names are stated above. Colors are light, and the tips are very flexible. I use these to practice my calligraphy and they work better than the calligraphy pens (above). I also like that they are easily blendable.
STABILO POINT 88 FINELINERS
These ones I bought more than 10 years ago. They still work although a couple have dried up (I think coz I left them uncapped). I will try to buy the rest of the colors individually soon! These work well for adding detail or flourish to letterings.
UNI PIN FINE LINER PENS
I just bought these last Sunday for my bullet journal. I will be posting about that soon! I needed pens that won’t bleed through and so far, I am loving these! It’s a great alternative to the more expensive Pigma Micron pens. If the need be, I will buy the rest of the set.
Got these about 8 years ago. And since I no longer work in a corporate setting, I don’t get to use these as much. All of them are still in good condition. I like these because they are slimmer than the original highlighter design. Also, Stabilo has released pastel colored highlighters, so there are more options now. I use these when I want “bolder” lettering.
FABER CASTELL COLOUR PENCILS (36)
Another [very] old purchase. I have not used these for some time, but I am encorporating them on my bullet journal.
CRAYOLA TWISTABLE CRAYONS (24)
I bought this last year to gift to someone, but I never got to see her nor had the chance to send it via courier. Found this still gift wrapped and decided to just keep it. I will find a good use for it eventually!
I’m ending this post with my wish list. I really hope I get to buy these in the future.
- Crayola Super Tips Marker (100)
- Tombow Dual Brush Set (96)
P.S. I bought some more pens for calligraphy and will update this list once I get them!
Bought all these recently as a Christmas gift for myself. 🙂
PIGMA MICRON (6 PACK)
These pens rage from 01 to 05 and a brush pen. While I have not used this a lot since I got them, I feel they are comparable to the Uni pin fine liner pens. From testing and comparison, these pens have a better pigment variation compared to the uni pin pens.
TOMBOW FUDENOSUKE BRUSH PENS
I got the soft brush, hard brush and dual brush pens. I wanted to get these so I can write small calligraphy without having to “fake” it. So far I prefer the soft brush over the hard brush because it’s easier to control. These will be put to good use in my bullet journal!
FABER-CASTELL CALLIGRAPHY BRUSH PENS (12)
These pens have medium brush tips and are easy to use. They create a thinner down stroke compared to other coloured brush pens on this list.
PLATINUM BRUSH PENS
These I found in our local bookstore and thought I give a try. These would probably be my favourite brush pens for now and these were the ones I constantly use to practice. The only downside is, you have to buy them individually, and the color range is fewer.
CRAYOLA SUPER TIPS (20)
First of all, I don’t know why I only have 19 markers! Either I left one in the box when I threw it out or the box I got really contained just 19 markers…. and of all colours, the one missing is the black one! Anyway, since this is a new pack, I have not used or tried writing with them. Again, I will update this post when I have more to say. 🙂
